Brand new, seamless integration with Overdrive digital media services provides LIBERO users access to exciting catalogue of digital content via iPhone, Sony Reader, iPod and other popular devices.

The new integration feature extends the library catalogue with more than 300,000 items and mobile functionality for libraries.

LIBERO libraries with an Overdrive subscription can now provide access to a range of digital content including ebooks, audiobooks, video and music in dozens of languages.

Patrons can search the collection of Overdrive items and use their LIBERO member Services account to check-out and download items at home, or in the library.

“This is a very positive development for LIBERO Libraries – particularly public library customers who can now provide patrons convenient, web-based access to fantastic digital content in many languages,” said LIBERO’s Ben Cronin.

The library maintains control over the range of Overdrive items available in the collection, the loan period and ability for patrons to access, check-out and download items at any time of the day or night.

In 2009 Overdrive significantly increased its catalogue, singing with a number of top international publishers including HarperCollins, McGraw-Hill, Random House, Brilliance Audio, Blackstone Audio, and Penguin.

Over 10,000 Public libraries, Schools, colleges and corporations around the world already use Overdrive, including online retailers such as Read Without Paper, Borders.com and WHSmith.co.uk.

Libraries using Versions later than LIBERO 5.5 receive the new integration feature for free. For more information on Overdrive, contact Ben Cronin or visit overdrive.com.
