The World Wide Web Consortium, promoting itself as the organization leading the Web to its fullest potential, includes a division called the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).

The Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) develops strategies, guidelines, and resources to help make the Web accessible to people with disabilities.

Over the last twelve months Insight invested a significant amount of development to ensure that the Libero WebOPAC was fully compliant with the guidelines setout by W3C/WAI.

This work was commenced in Libero V5.1 and we are proud to announce that this work was completed in Libero V5.3.

For example if you have members that are visually impaired they will be able to use software that will accurately speak the text of the WebOPAC page that they are browsing. Other devices for the disabled can also be connected and the WebOPAC information will be translated appropriately for their use.
