Eurobodalla Libraries was recognised with the Knosys Libero Design Award 2024 for their project, “Stories of the Eurobodalla”. Eurobodalla Libraries used Libero’s custom pages to effectively present and preserve local oral histories, including those from the Black Summer bushfires. The library staff tackled challenges in archival storage and file formats to ensure long-term access to their collection. Their practical and innovative approach sets a new benchmark for integrating digital solutions with community history.
“Libero has allowed us to create an accessible and engaging interface for our oral history content. We believe that these stories are not only a testament to the resilience and strength of our local community but also serve as a valuable ongoing resource for future generations to understand the impact of such events. This project represents a significant step forward in our commitment to preserving and sharing the rich history and culture of the Eurobodalla.
The use of custom pages has given staff a more accessible and engaging interface for displaying our oral history content. This approach has allowed materials that might have otherwise been overlooked within the Library Catalogue to be integrated and displayed in a user-friendly format, bringing together audio, photos, and transcripts in one cohesive platform” said Samantha Fenton Library Coordinator.
