Canterbury Bankstown Council

Largest council in NSW uses LIBERO to provide services to the community

Insight Informatics is proud to announce that recently amalgamated Council, Canterbury-Bankstown, has gone Live with, LIBERO.

The internationally recognised library management solution will provide the 350,000 residents of Canterbury-Bankstown, the largest Council in NSW by population, access to its popular online catalogue.

The nine library and knowledge centres in Canterbury-Bankstown are the most popular facilities in the City, with more than 1 million visitors in 2017.  In addition, 1.04 million resources were borrowed, and more than 82,000 people attended the 5,336 programs and workshops offered.

Canterbury Bankstown’s acting Coordinator – Technology and Futures, Carole Read, says the recent merge onto LIBERO has been beneficial for customers and staff.

“The merge provided us with the opportunity to assess our Collections, our policies and our procedures,” said Carole.

“We now have more than 320,000 physical items and an ever-increasing collection of Online Resources, comprising eAudio, eBooks, eComics, eMagazines, and online databases available to the community.”

“Over 92,000 library members are now able to reserve, borrow and return library items at any of our nine branch libraries. Our online catalogue is also being updated to reflect the merge and we look forward to its rollout with a new look and enhanced functionality”.
