The latest annual report by The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and National and State Libraries Australasia shows attendance for library programs has almost doubled nationally in recent years. An increase, from 3.5 million participants in 2020-21 to more than 6.1 million in 2022-23. Library programs and events are more important for library members than ever for a variety of reasons:

With Event Management for libraries in Libero 6, libraries can create, promote, and manage events for their communities all in one, easy location within the LMS. Event Management with Libero 6 saves staff time, encourages new memberships and lets your existing members access events when and where it suits them.
How Library staff can plan successful events:
- Create events: Create single or recurring events including an image, description, session availability, location map, address, tags and contact details of organisers who can be library staff, library members or external organisers.
- Create ticketed events: Create ticketed and non-ticketed events with the option of pricing tiers, e.g., Adults, Children and Seniors.
- Promote events: Option to promote events via the events carousel on the main Discovery page. Libraries can also configure links to a separate events page.
- Manage event registrations: Check-in registered members to events, record attendance for non-ticketed events, and cancel events.
How members can join and manage their library event registrations:
- Browse the events carousel: Browse promoted events in the events carousel on the main Discovery page.
- Search the events page: Search or browse events on the events page.
- Register for events: Register for free and paid events via the Member Portal or the Libero Library App. Members can pay for events via PayPal.
- View event tickets and add to calendar: View tickets via the Member Portal and add events to their calendar.
- Cancel event registrations: Cancel paid event registrations or update via the Member Portal or the Libero Library App.
